Hizb ut Tahrir is a political party that works to restore the Islamic way of life and carry the Islamic da’wah to the world through the establishment of the Islamic state. It understands that its path is spread with thorns and danger, and that establishing the Islamic state is not easy to become a minister and thrust oneself in the arena of government following any method and being in any condition.
Hizb ut Tahrir was established in response to the saying of Allah (swt),
((وَلْتَكُنْ مِنْكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى الْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنْ الْمُنْكَرِ وَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ))
“And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful.” [3:104]
The Hizb’s method in carrying the da’wah is the method of the Prophet (saw). Allah (swt) says,
((وَمَا ءاتَاكُمْ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُوا وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ))
“And whatever the Messenger has given you - take; and what he has forbidden you - refrain from. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.” [59:7]
Therefore, the Hizb performs actions that fall under intellectual and political struggle, so it shows the good, and enjoins and calls for it, and points out the evil and forbids it. From that and the most important of the evils is the rulers and politicians who do not rule by what Allah (swt) has revealed, govern people by Kufr rulings, plot conspiracies against them by applying Kufr and colonialist plans, and deceive them by false promises and pleasant words to maintain their positions and interests.
The rulers and their agencies in this state have continued persistently to claim that they preserve people’s affairs, find solutions for their problems, guard their livelihood and wealth, safety, and honor, and work hard to promote what they call “general freedoms”, which includes “freedom of opinion and speech”. People became accustomed to hearing such promises without sensing any of them, rather their condition is changing from bad to worse than their current situation. If the carriers of Islam reveal the evils and invalidity of what the rulers and their services carry out, and reveal the reality of the sufferings of the Ummah and its people by showing the reality of the effective Shari’ solutions for them; the security services - rather terror services - which have increased and multiplied, spy on them, follow and imprison them, and use various methods of torture, such as: “hanging” the feet and hands, lashing by whips, using electrical chairs, and other barbaric means. After that, they appear through their media to tell us that freedoms are protected, that they are democratic, and that the arena of expression is wide…
They employ their intelligence services in mosques and at its doors and in markets and wherever they can, to spy on da’wah carriers. They unfairly arrest them, just for suspecting that they could be from Hizb ut Tahrir, and simply because they distribute leaflets supporting their opinions and solutions and a call for their creed and religion. They arrest young people in the streets, in front of people’s eyes through mean and lowly methods, in which they wave their guns while wearing civil clothes. They employ their services to spy on Muslims in mosques, especially during Jum’aa prayer, and spy on the preacher’s khutbah and on those who say a word of good or distribute a leaflet that calls for Islam. It happened more than once that they followed da’wah carriers in the streets and instigated people by calling out: “thief, thief”, so that people will help them to arrest the da’wah carriers. Let Muslims be aware of such people and do not be deceived by them.
Where are freedoms that they rant about all the time? Where is what they call the state of law? Where is the so-called free media? And where is integrity or honesty in anything? Afterwards, has Islam become a crime?! Is carrying the Islamic da’wah and the Islamic opinion forbidden? Is the Muslim who is committed to the Islamic ruling (Hukm Shar’i) in his way of thinking, opinion, behavior, and politics considered a criminal?! Islam is our creed, our legislation, and our methodology: ((فَاسْتَقِمْ كَمَا أُمِرْتَ)) “So remain on a right course as you have been commanded” [11:112] If they wanted a state that is not based on Islam, then the west had given them what they wanted and what it wanted since it started to be in power, then they did not leave unbroken backs or pillaged lands. To where are they headed towards?!
We realize that what they are doing serves the international campaign to eliminate Islam as a civilization alternative, its da’wah carriers, and the prosperity of Islamic awakening. They have tried and tried for long years and did not succeed and will never succeed by Allah’s will, as our tranquility is in the obedience of Allah (swt), our happiness is in patience in hardships, and our creed is that ((الْعاقِبَةَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ)) “the [best] outcome is for the righteous.” [11:49] Let them fear Allah (swt) in the da’wah carriers, or do not despair in all their trials, as the puncture has become too wide to be mended, Alhamdulillah.
It would have been a priority for these “terror” services and those lackeys to be the eyes of the Ummah’s enemies and to uncover the plans of the non-Muslim colonialist and its spies. Not to be the spies on da’wah carriers, mosques’ attendants, and those who call the Ummah to worship Allah (swt) and follow His Messenger (saw) and to what revives it.
As this is their present condition, we remind them that ruling that is based on spying, force, silencing voices, and suppression will turn into police ruling whose only methods will be terrorism, obsession, suppression, torment, and bloodshed. This situation won’t last, and taking care of people’s affairs through concepts of military rulings and measures of repression and oppression will lead to destruction.
Islam forbids harming and torturing people, lashing them, and spying on them… Muslim narrated on the authority of Hisham bin Hakim said:
أشهَد لسمعتُ رسولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم
« إنّ الله يعذب الذين يعذبون الناس في الدنيا »
“I bear testimony to the fact that I heard the Messenger of Allah (saw) saying, “Allah will torment those who torment people in the world”“.
Allah’s Messenger (saw) said,
«صنفان من أهل النار لم أرهما: قوم معهم سياط كأذناب البقر يضربون بها الناس...»
“Two are the types of the denizens of Hell whom I did not see: people having flogs like the tails of the ox with them and they would be beating people…” (Narrated by Muslim)
وقال صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو يطوف حول الكعبة: «ما أطيَبَكِ وما أطيَبَ ريحكِ، ما أعظمكِ وما أعظم حرمتكِ، والذي نفس محمد بيده لحرمةُ المؤمن أعظمُ عند الله حرمةً منكِ، ماله ودمه، وأن لا نظنّ به إلا خيراً» رواه ابن ماجه.
The Messenger of Allah (saw) as he circumambulated the Ka’bah said,
ما أطيَبَكِ وما أطيَبَ ريحكِ، ما أعظمكِ وما أعظم حرمتكِ، والذي نفس محمد بيده لحرمةُ المؤمن أعظمُ عند الله حرمةً منكِ، ماله ودمه، وأن لا نظنّ به إلا خيراً
“How good you are and how good your fragrance; how great you are and how great your sanctity. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, the sanctity of the believer is greater before Allah than your sanctity, his blood and his wealth, and to think anything but good of him.”” (Narrated by Ibn Majah)
Allah (swt) said,
((يَأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءامَنُوا اجْتَنِبُوا كَثِيرًا مِنْ الظَّنِّ إِنَّ بَعْضَ الظَّنِّ إِثْمٌ وَلاَ تَجَسَّسُوا))
“O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy” [49:12]
The Messenger of Allah (saw) said,
«إيّاكم والظنَّ فإن الظن أكذب الحديث ولا تحسَّسُوا ولا تجسَّسُوا»
“Beware of suspicion, for it is the worst of false tales and don’t look for the other’s faults and don’t spy.” (Narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim)
We say to the da’wah carriers in the sake of Allah: This is the path of the Prophet and the other Prophets (peace and blessings upon them) and the path of the companions (May Allah bless them). It is a test for what is in the believers’ hearts. There are numerous Shar’i evidences for this. Allah (swt) said,
أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَنْ تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَأْتِكُمْ مَثَلُ الَّذِينَ خَلَوْا مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ مَسَّتْهُمُ الْبَأْسَاءُ وَالضَّرَّاءُ وَزُلْزِلُوا حَتَّى يَقُولَ الرَّسُولُ وَالَّذِينَ ءامَنُوا مَعَهُ مَتَى نَصْرُ اللَّهِ أَلاَ إِنَّ نَصْرَ اللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ
“Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while such [trial] has not yet come to you as came to those who passed on before you? They were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even their] messenger and those who believed with him said, “When is the help of Allah?” Unquestionably, the help of Allah is near.” [2: 214]
O Muslims: Work with da’wah carriers, and persevere in the path for the establishment of Allah’s rulings on earth by establishing the Islamic state, the Khilafah State, the State of guidance, light, and taking care of people’s affairs by justice and truth. Do not deviate through any enticement or threats nor donation or calamity, and be guided by the Prophet’s (saw) saying:
«فما تظنُّ قريش، فوالله لا أزال أجاهدهم على الذي بعثني الله به، حتى يظهرني الله أو تنفرد هذه السالفة»
“What does Quraish think, I swear by Allah that I will fight them for what Allah has sent me for, until I defeat them or this accident will be unique.” (Narrated by Ahmad and at-Tabarani)
Allah (swt) said,
((كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنْ الْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ))
“You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah.” [3:110]
And He said,
((وَاللَّهُ مَعَكُمْ وَلَنْ يَتِرَكُمْ أَعْمَالَكُمْ))
“and Allah is with you and will never deprive you of [the reward of] your deeds.” [47: 35]
